The number of recipients of Fuel Allowance by primary scheme payment end February 2026 are shown in the below table. Figures in respect of March 2026 will be available in April.

In addition, Budget 2026 extended Fuel Allowance entitlement to families in receipt of the Working Family Payment. Earlier this month approximately 50,000 Working Family Payment recipients received back dated payments of Fuel Allowance, bringing the total number of households in receipt of Fuel Allowance to over 470,000.
