The number of staff allocated to the Department each year, is established in accordance with the Employment Control Framework as agreed with the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation. My Department manages its staffing within this ECF framework.

The table below details the number of full-time equivalent employees that were employed in my Department at the end of December 2025, broken down by grade.

Please note the Principal Officer grade includes 33 (FTE) Medical Assessors, who are equivalent to the Principal Officer grade.
