I wish to inform the Deputy that regulations are currently in place in relation to unlawful parking in disabled parking bays.

It is an offence to park in a disabled parking bay without a disabled parking permit and a fixed charge notice of €150 may be issued for this offence. In addition, the use of a parking permit by a person who is not the permit holder, and which is not for the convenience of the holder, may incur a fixed charge notice of €200.

Enforcement of parking regulations is a matter for An Garda Síochána and local authorities.
