My Department provides funding to a range of organisations through funding schemes, grant programmes and financial supports. These organisations provide vital services in many areas across the justice sector including youth justice services, crime prevention, supporting victims of crime, migrant integration, and community safety.

Not all funding schemes administered by my Department run open calls for applications.

For example, funding for Youth Justice projects is generally provided on an ongoing basis to existing projects without the need to invite applications for funding. However, when new Youth Justice projects are being established, and following approval from the Minister of State, advertisements for expressions of interest are published to invite proposals from community and youth service organisations to establish new projects in the selected areas.

Similarly, the Abhaile Scheme provides financial supports and legal advice for individuals in mortgage arrears. The Abhaile Scheme is a cross-Government scheme which is sponsored jointly by my Department and the Department of Social Protection and administered by the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) together with the Insolvency Service of Ireland (ISI), the Legal Aid Board and the Citizens Information Board.

Details of funding schemes administered by my Department for which there are plans to issue open calls for applications in 2026 are provided in the table below:

Name Purpose Expected Launch Date Expected Close Date
Community Safety Fund For the proceeds of crime, seized by CAB, to be redirected back into communities March 2026 May 2026
Ireland Against Racism Fund To provide funding for local initiatives and projects intended to combat racism and promote racial equality May 2026 June 2026
Integration Fund This fund is for projects supporting migrant integration in areas such as sport, education, employment, and culture. March 2026 April 2026
Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund To support International Protection applicants, programme refugees, Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection and other third country nationals arriving in Ireland March 2026 April 2026
With regard to agencies under the aegis of my Department, I am informed that the Probation Service funds community organisations to develop and deliver services to offenders in their communities. These community organisations provide a range of services to offenders in local communities, including training and education, offender management programmes, residential accommodation, and drug and alcohol treatment programmes. Details of funding schemes and grant programmes operated by the Probation Service, for which there are plans to issue open calls for applications in 2026 are provided in the table below.

I am further informed that the Irish Prison Service and Cuan provide funding to community organisations in their areas of work on a recurring annual basis. In addition, the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland expects to issue a funding call for its Social Impact Fund in mid to late 2026, subject the commencement of its licensing regime.

It has not been possible for An Garda Síochána to collate the information requested in the timeline provided. Once this information is available, I will forward it to the Deputy directly.
