This detail is not currently available as the insurance figures for schools are all apportioned to one cost-code, i.e. that for overall school insurance. Only the student insurance, - which is for student cover for sports and other activities, - is apportioned separately. The estimated overall insurance cost for non-ETB schools (i.e. all schools that submit their accounts to the FSSU) in the latest year for which figures are available is approximately €35m. My department is currently conducting research into insurance practices in schools, including costs and their drivers.
