Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the National Driver Licence Service.

RSA service delivery is reviewed as part of regular Departmental oversight of the Authority. In relation to driving licence exchange applications, while there are delays in some cases in processing licence exchanges, these are often due to specific issues, including verification response times from the corresponding licensing authority.
