As the Deputy will be aware, daa has statutory responsibility to operate, manage and develop Dublin Airport. As such, the management of car parking including the setting of prices is a matter for daa and I have no role in this area.

I have however sought information on the question you have raised from daa and the response below regarding car parking prices has been provided by daa.

"Car parking at Dublin Airport is a limited resource with the airport operating c.23,000 car parking spaces and an additional 6,200 car parking spaces operated by competitor Park2Travel. In addition multiple other operators including hotels and off site operations are available. Car parking is recognised as a key enabler to airport operations and growth at Dublin Airport. There are currently a number of live applications for both staff car parking and passenger car parking in various stages of the planning process.

The price of car parking at Dublin Airport fluctuates depending on several factors, notably the time of year and the demand at that time for parking. This pricing model can result in passengers paying less or more than they may have done previously and enables daa to effectively manage demand for parking.

Dublin Airport's average car parking rates are similar to peer airports in the UK."
