I can confirm that my Department is responsible for two grant payment systems which relate to schemes whereby individuals may apply for the grant payments, which support them in participating in further and/or higher education.

The Student Grant Scheme and Third level Bursaries are administered through SUSI which is a business unit within the City of Dublin ETB.

The 1916 Bursary Scheme was administered by the third level institutions up until the 2023/24 awards, but SUSI are now managing the application, assessment and payments on behalf of the third level institutions.

The opening and closing dates for applications to the schemes for 2026, are presented in the table below.
