The Irish Prison Service has confirmed to my Department that data regarding prison committals is not collated in the format requested. Information in relation to the number of persons committed by County and Gender, in addition to the number sentenced by Offence Group, is published on its website (www.irishprisons.ie). This information can be found in the Information Centre under Statistics & Information.
