635. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality further to his Department’s published collection of “Purchase Orders Issued Over €20,000 in Value” (details supplied), to confirm if his Department holds equivalent purchase-order/payment data for the years 2012 to 2015; and if so, to publish same online in the interests of completeness and transparency. As the Deputy is aware, my Department has published purchase orders with a value over €20,000 on gov.ie since 2016.

The National Archives Record Retention Schedule for Records Common to all Departments of State requires retention of purchase orders for 6 years after the end of the financial year, as referenced in the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997.

I am informed that for the years 2012-2015 it would not be practical or feasible for officials to retrospectively compile all purchase orders for publication.
