Non-Productive Investments (NPIs) are actions that are available to participants in the Co-operation approach of ACRES to address environmental issues on the farm, directly contribute to environmental objectives and increase the farmer's capacity to improve field scores through appropriate management.
The list of NPIs, and associated Specifications, is available on my Department’s website at: www.gov.ie/en/department-of-agriculture-food-and-the-marine/services/agri-climate-rural-environment-scheme-acres/#non-productive-investments
Please see NPI approved applications figures for 2023 and 2024, as follows:
| - | NPI - Annual Works Plans 2023 | NPI Annual Works Plans 2024 |

The third application window for NPIs opened on 5 August 2025 and closed on October 17th 2025. A total of 3,389 applications were received in this window. These applications will now be screened before decision letters issue.
