I have been fully briefed by An Garda Síochána in relation to the recent death at a Tusla residential facility in Dublin. My deepest sympathies go to the family and friends of the young person who has died.

A person has been charged and the matter is now before the courts. Where a criminal act has occurred, the Department is precluded from commenting or providing detailed information, as it may prejudice any consequent investigations or court cases.
