The State is currently accommodating over 32,500 people in 318 IPAS centres around the country, 9,500 of whom are children.
IPAS releases weekly statistics in relation to international protection applicants accommodated by IPAS. This includes a per county breakdown of resident numbers along with other details including gender and nationality.

Between 1 January 2021 to 28 October 2025, a total of 5,661 Somali nationals entered international protection accommodation.
A person or a family's duration of stay in IPAS accommodation varies depending on their personal circumstances and the progress of their application.
