I am advised by the Garda authorities that training in this area is delivered through Hate Crime and Diversity & Cultural Awareness Training.
Hate Crime is a fully online course comprising video content, reading material and knowledge checks. It is a four module course of three hours duration and is comprised of the following topics:
Module 1- The Nature and Impact of Hate Crime and the Importance of Recording
Module 2 - Identification and Recording of Hate Crime
Module 3 - Community Engagement and Risk Assessment
Module 4 - Hate Crime Investigation and Prosecution Issues
Diversity and Cultural Awareness is a fully online course comprising video content and a knowledge check. The videos are in a presentation style. It is a four module course which covers the following topics:
Module 1 – What is Diversity and Inclusion?
Module 2 – Understanding the Power of Culture
Module 3 – Diversity Definitions
Module 4 – Understanding the Unconscious.
