220. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if a carer is allowed to accompany a candidate during driver theory tests and driving lessons, including in situations where a candidate has an invisible disability; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21711/24]

Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for all aspects of driver testing, including special accommodations. As such, I have referred the Deputy's question to the RSA for direct, detailed reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response is not received within ten days
