123. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the steps that will be taken in relation to the buses that will no longer be in use once the new electric buses are delivered; the timeline for the 800 buses; the areas in which they will be allocated, delivered and up and running; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Minister for Transport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport; however, I am not involved in the day-to-day operations of public transport.
The National Transport Authority (NTA) has responsibility for the planning and development of public transport infrastructure, including the procurement of the national bus fleet.
In light of the Authority's responsibility in this area, I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
