354. To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government if he will consider extending the rent allowance for full-time firefighters particularly for new recruits in view of increased rents which nullify their existing allowance. [44517/20]

The rent allowance of €4,500 was incorporated into the basic pay scale from 1st July 2017.
There are no plans at present to extend the rent allowance payments.
