1106. To ask the Minister for Health the amount of funding now allocated to community drug and alcohol support programmes operated by the north east regional drug and alcohol task force in view of the Health Service Executive national service plan for 2018. [2006/18]

With effect from 1 January 2014, operational and financial responsibility for the North East Regional Drug and Alcohol Task Force was transferred to the Health Service Executive. Therefore, this service matter has been referred to the Health Service Executive for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.

1107. To ask the Minister for Health further to Parliamentary Question No. 338 of 14 November 2017, the additional resources that will be allocated to develop a new programme to mobilise community action on alcohol in line with action No. 1.1.1 of Reducing Harm, Supporting Recovery; the proposed out working of this scheme; and if it will complement existing community drug and alcohol support programmes in the north east region. [2007/18]

In recognition of the key role Drug and Alcohol Task Forces play in providing a targeted response to the drug problem in local communities, I will shortly be announcing details of a range of new funding initiatives to strengthen the capacity of Task Forces to support the implementation of Reducing Harm, Supporting Recovery during 2018.
