An application for domiciliary care allowance (DCA) was received from this lady on the 5th April 2017. The application was not allowed as it was considered that the child did not meet the eligibility criteria for the allowance. A letter issued on the 7thSeptember 2017 outlining the decision.

A request for a review of this decision was received on 21stSeptember 2017. The application will be re-examined by a deciding officer and a revised decision will be made if warranted. The lady concerned will be notified of the outcome of this review as soon as it is completed. Such reviews can take up to 17 weeks to complete at present.

I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
