446. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the status of the transfer of a site to allow plans for a new school (details supplied) in County Galway to proceed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4793/16]

As the Deputy may be aware, the building project for the school to which he refers is included in the 6 year construction programme that I announced last November.
Officials from my Department have worked closely with officials from Galway County Council under the Memorandum of Understanding for the acquisition of school sites towards procuring a suitable site for this building project. The conveyancing process in respect of the site in question is at an advanced stage and once this is completed the project for the school will advance into architectural planning.
