The department informs me that there is no application by the person concerned for carer's allowance registered. If the person in question wishes to make an application, he should complete and return the application form (CR1) that I have arranged to issue to him.

Only on receipt of a fully completed application form can his entitlement to carer's allowance be determined.

I confirm that the department received an application for Carer's Allowance (CA) from the person concerned on 24 June 2015.

It is a condition for receipt of a CA that the person being cared for must require full-time care and attention as defined in the relevant legislation. It is a further condition that the carer must be providing full-time care and attention.

The evidence submitted in support of this application was examined and a deciding officer (DO) decided that the person in question was not entitled to CA on the grounds that neither of these conditions were satisfied.

The person concerned was notified on 24 October 2015 of this decision, the reasons for it and of her right of review and appeal.

I confirm that the department received an application for Carer’s Allowance from the person concerned on 10 July 2015. It is a condition for receipt of a carer’s allowance (CA) that the person being cared for must have a disability whose effect is that they require full-time care and attention.

This is defined as requiring from another person, continual supervision and frequent assistance throughout the day in connection with normal bodily functions or continuous supervision in order to avoid danger to him or herself and likely to require that level of care for at least twelve months.

The evidence submitted in support of this application was examined and the deciding officer decided that this evidence did not indicate that the requirement for full-time care was satisfied.

The person concerned was notified on 22 October 2015 of this decision, the reason for it and of her right of review and appeal. The person concerned has requested a review and submitted additional evidence in support of her application. The review is currently being processed and once completed, the person concerned will be notified directly of the outcome.

I confirm that the department received an application for carer’s allowance (CA) from the person concerned on 29 April 2015.

On 17 August 2015 a deciding officer sent a request to the person in question for additional information necessary to determine eligibility. A further request for specific relevant information issued on 17 September 2015.

As the person concerned has failed to supply the requested documentation, the deciding officer is not in a position to make a decision as to her entitlement to CA.

If the person concerned wishes to proceed with her application, she should furnish the outstanding documentation as soon as possible.
