929. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he is aware that the Santry River greenway project has not been included in the National Transport Agency's 2016 works programme; if this project would link residential communities with high unemployment directly with areas of employment where existing transport links are otherwise very poor; if he will engage with the National Transport Agency with a view to including this project in its works programme as it is the only section of the agency's strategic greenway network not yet to come forward for planning, yet it has potential to be one of the most successful; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The National Transport Authority (NTA) is the competent authority responsible for the provision of cycling infrastructure in the Greater Dublin Area.

I have forwarded the Deputy's request to the NTA for attention and direct reply to him. Contact should be made with my office if a response has not been received within 10 working days.
