235. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection when a decision will issue on an application for a disability allowance by a person (details supplied). [36097/15]

The person concerned was awarded disability allowance with effect from 20 May 2015. The first payment was made by his selected payment method on 5 August 2015.
Following a successful appeal in relation to the backdating of his claim, disability allowance has been awarded with effect from 8 October 2014. Arrears due to the person in question will issue shortly once any necessary adjustment has been made in respect of an overlapping social welfare payment and/or any outstanding debt (where relevant).
