To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the reason for the inclusion of a note on the national driver licence service application form stating that information given on the form is subject to disclosure and may be retained for 20 years; the information on the form which may be shared; the reason it may be shared; the way the data are protected, in view of the requirement for persons over 70 years of age to provide medical information, if this information can be shared; and if he will make a statement on the matter. ​The operation of the National Driver Licensing Service is the statutory responsibility of the Road Safety Authority. I have therefore referred the question to the Authority for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.
