Under the Pharmacy Acts 1875 â 2007, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) has responsibility for maintaining the register of pharmacists. I am informed by the PSI that the total number of persons registered as pharmacists as at 31 March 2008 was 4553, and as at 31 March 2009 was 4484.
