During the period mentioned in the Deputy's question, two officials at my Department have been dismissed. The Standards in Public Office Commission has published the Civil Service Code of Standards and Behaviour. This document consolidates the principles an official is expected to adhere to in carrying out his or her official duties and following their retirement or resignation from the service. If an official breaches the terms of the code, he or she can be subjected to disciplinary procedures in accordance with the Civil Service Disciplinary Code as revised in accordance with the terms of the Civil Service Regulation (Amendment) Act 2005.
