The Cathaoirleach has received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:

Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Social Protection to make a statement on the eligibility criteria for the living alone allowance.

Senator Sarah O'Reilly - The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on the funding allocated to Cavan as part of the additional funding for roads damaged during Storm Chandra.

Senator Alice-Mary Higgins - The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade to make a statement on steps that Ireland has taken or will take during its Presidency of the European Council to ensure a thorough human rights review of Indonesia's record and actions in respect of West Papua before proceeding with the ratification of the EU-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.

Senator Gareth Scahill - The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance to make a statement on what measurable progress has been made in implementing the national financial literacy strategy.

Senator Patricia Stephenson - The need for the Minister for Health to provide an update on the timeline for the opening of the Carlow small injuries unit and to outline staffing plans.

Senator Aubrey McCarthy - To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment to make a statement on the timeframe for the transposition of the platform work directive.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion. The Cathaoirleach has selected those raised by Senators Maria Byrne, Sarah O'Reilly, Alice-Mary Higgins and Gareth Scahill and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
