Programme for Government: Motion (15 Mar 2011)

Dessie Ellis: I dtús báire, ba mhaith liom buíochas a ghabháil le gach éinne - mo chlann ina measc - a thug tacaíocht dom agus do Sinn Féin san olltoghchán. Is mór an chúis ómóis é bheith mar Theachta Dála le haghaidh muintir Bhaile Átha Cliath Thiar Thuaidh. Tá athrú á lorg ag na daoine. Tá sé le feiceáil i mo phobal féin - an t-aon dáilcheantar nár thogh Teachta ar bith ó...

Programme for Government: Motion (15 Mar 2011)

Dessie Ellis: Professor McCarthy is also likely to recommend the sale of Coillte in whole or in part. Despite the programme's commitment to merge Coillte and Bord na Móna, the 7% of the State's land under the control of Coillte is by no means safe. There is much in the report that also highlights the departure from pre-election promises, particularly on the part on the Labour Party. There is much...

Programme for Government: Motion (15 Mar 2011)

Dessie Ellis: Ba mhaith liom cúpla nóiméad eile. The reality is that the people who will be sacked are those who are supplying vital public services. The reality also is that despite the commitment to safeguard front line services, the scale of redundancies targeted and the overall reduction in key public services for budgetary reasons will mean it is inevitable that teachers and nurses will be among...

Road Traffic Bill 2011: Second Stage (23 Mar 2011)

Dessie Ellis: I dtús báire, ba mhaith liom comhghairdeas a ghabháil leis an Aire, an Teachta Varadkar, a bhfuair jab nua le déanaí. Is mian liom tacaíocht a thabhairt don Bhille seo. Sílim go bhfuil sé an-mhaith ar fad. I welcome the Minister and look forward to meeting with him on a regular basis. I welcome this Bill on behalf of my party despite some issues which I will discuss later and...

Waste Management (6 Apr 2011)

Dessie Ellis: I congratulate the Leas-Cheann Comhairle on his new position and thank the Minister and Ministers of State. The area in question has been a bone of contention for many years. The issue has an awful history. This was the old Dunsink Lane, which linked up to Castleknock. It is in the Castleknock area, but many refer to it as being in Finglas. As I outlined, approximately 200 people live...

Waste Management (6 Apr 2011)

Dessie Ellis: One case.

Waste Management (6 Apr 2011)

Dessie Ellis: I thank the Minister. We need urgent action. It is frustrating that the same person has been dumping for years. A serious outbreak could occur, one that would affect the entire area's population. I hope the Minister will follow through on this.
