The main issue that has not been addressed by the honourable minister is the issue of availability for 72hrs. When it was 12days, snas used to be available and as a result, not all the 12days were ever utilised. When the 12days were converted to 72hrs, it was assumed by snas and the union that they will continue to be available and that there will be no need to complete all 72hrs unless appropriate work is available. Unfortunately, some principals are enforcing the use of the whole 72hrs even when there is no appropriate work.The question is why is the Department not addressing this issue? Thats the kind of question Sean Haughey should be asking the minister.
