Minister Donohoe confirms that the Department of Transport have a clear anti-rail policy in place. Only in Ireland would we not consider the Wider Economic Benefits of passenger rail services as part of the business case. If Wider Economic Benefits were not taken into consideration in other countries, railway projects like Crossrail in London or the Eurotunnel would never get built.
