Ábhair Shaincheisteanna Tráthúla - Topical Issue Matters

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 37 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív - the urgent need for the Minister for Rural and Community Development to reduce islander fares on public service obligation, PSO, services to the islands by ferry and by air by 20% in line with what has happened to such fares on PSO rail and bus fares; (2) Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn - to discuss pre-legislative scrutiny of legislation for the defective concrete block scheme; (3) Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh - to discuss the reinterment in Glasnevin Cemetery of the remains of the five Invincibles; (4) Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan - to discuss when the national medicines agency will be established; (5) Deputy Jennifer Whitmore - to discuss service provision issues on Go-Ahead's Wicklow bus routes; (6) Deputies Mark Ward, Bríd Smith, Joan Collins, Gino Kenny and Patrick Costello – to discuss the closure of 11 beds in Linn Dara child and adolescent mental health services, CAMHS, Cherry Orchard; (7) Deputy Chris Andrews - to discuss proposals to repurpose the Baggot Street hospital for refugee housing; (8) Deputy Brian Stanley - to discuss the future of the mental health facility Erkina House, Rathdowney; (9) Deputies Paul Murphy and Richard Boyd Barrett - to discuss the Oxfam wealth report; (10) Deputy David Stanton - to discuss security of natural gas supplies ahead of the autumn and winter periods; (11) Deputy Thomas Gould - to discuss the work of the vacant homes unit in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage and the proposed vacant homes tax; and (12) Deputy Kieran O'Donnell - to ask the Minister for Foreign Affairs on the issues currently being encountered by students in respect of their J1 visa applications for those travelling shortly.

The matters raised by Deputies Ó Cuív; Stanton; Ward, Bríd Smith, Joan Collins, Gino Kenny and Costello; and Andrews have been selected for discussion.
