I call on the Minister of State, Deputy Rabbitte, who has informed the Ceann Comhairle that she wishes to make a personal explanation to the House pursuant to Standing Order 56.

I wish to make a personal explanation pursuant to Standing Order 56 and to correct the record of the House concerning my concluding statement on Thursday, 11 November, during the Dáil debate on the Farrelly commission of investigation.

Deputy Ó Cathasaigh asked me if there were other national independent review panels, NIRPs, in place in disability services. I indicated that two NIRP reports were under way in community healthcare organisation, CHO, area 5. After making this statement, it was brought to my attention that this information was incorrect. Information had been provided by the HSE, which was subsequently corrected. Unfortunately, I did not receive the correction until after I had made my statement in the Dáil. I have since been informed that there are three NIRPs ongoing but that none of these are in disability services. I hope this clarifies the matter for the House. I thank the Leas-Cheann Comhairle for allowing my intervention.
