Why not implement a scheme where hedge laying is mandatory? When a hedge is planted, it grows up in the air and underneath is no longer stock-proof. If we want to be part of the eco-scheme, part of the mandatory, have proper hedgerows and cut out wire, posts and fencing, which has been done in the UK and every other country, why is there no proper eco-scheme under which farmers can lay hedges and get compensated for it?
