The joys of being one of the last is that a lot of what I wanted to ask has been covered by my colleagues. I thank the witnesses for coming in, for their opening statement and for the great work they do. The agency often gets bad press but I acknowledge it does a lot of good work and it certainly is doing the best it can, which is all that can be asked.

On early intervention, Tusla reports a marked increase in children presenting with complex needs, including mental health difficulties, etc. What additional supports are required to ensure these children receive appropriate care and treatment before the situation escalates into special care or an emergency placement?
