Committee on Budgetary Oversight

Cost of Business Financing: Discussion (Resumed)

2:00 am

Mr. Ross Church:

If an entrepreneur wants to start a business, the key is to always encourage that and make it as easy as possible for them. They must not lose that spirit. Sometimes people might have a great business idea but they need that hand-holding. The LEOs, through their training and mentoring, provide that support. With the training and mentoring, as well as the start your own business training programme, absolutely anyone can start a business. The focus is on the fact that anyone can have a good idea, but some need a bit of hand-holding. That is what the LEOs are for. That local context is also key, whether it is in Wicklow or anywhere else.
