I thank the Deputy. We fundamentally changed the approach to how teens use our services. We have teen accounts now in place and there are two buckets within that. We have changed how the content they see within that works as well. We are focused now on this 13 plus type of content which is similar to what you would see in a movie of that rating. The type of things that are ruled out under that would be dangerous stunts or dangerous pranks, etc. There is also an additional step parents can take in terms of going further than that 13 plus type of content and limiting the content even further.

Sometimes, the question of algorithms and recommender systems is turned into quite a binary thing in that it is either good or bad. Under the DSA, we are required to mitigate the risks that our services present, including recommender systems. It is important to look at the recommender systems and how they are being used to service positive content.
