327. To ask the Minister for Health further to Parliamentary Question No. 304 of 29 February 2024, in relation to the vaccine damage scheme, if he will give an assurance that the two-year statute of limitations rule will not adversely impact those who will likely have a claim under this scheme, due to delays in the introduction of this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As I previously advised, work is ongoing to design a proposed model for a vaccine damage scheme and officials in my department are working through related policy matters. The development of the model will take into consideration how best to address the needs of all stakeholders including those persons who may fall outside of the two year statute of limitations. Once the model is developed I will bring it to Cabinet for approval.
