488. To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government the number of staff employed in the planning departments of each local authority during the years 2002 to 2012. [23858/13]

The information sought in respect of the period 2002 - 2011 is available on my Department's website at .
Data for 2012 are not yet available. Under section 159 of the Local Government Act 2001, each City and County Manager is responsible for staffing and organisational arrangements necessary for carrying out the functions of the local authorities for which he or she is responsible.
