Question 143: To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht the procedures in place to manage sick leave in his Department; the sick leave entitlement in place in his Department; the combined amount of sick days taken by staff in his Department in 2011 and to date in 2012; the financial cost of this sick leave; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy will be aware, my Department was established on 2nd June 2011. In common with all other Government Departments, sick leave in my Department is managed in accordance with civil service norms as set out by the Minister for Public Expenditure & Reform in Circular 09/2010 on the Management of Sick Leave. The information requested by the Deputy is set out in the table below.
