Question 530: To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of prosecutions cases brought by An Garda Síochána for a closure order for licensed premises in the years 2008 to 2011, inclusive; the number of orders granted; the number currently pending in each of these years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Garda Síochána Act 2005 makes provision for the compilation and publication of crime statistics by the Central Statistics Office, as the national statistical agency, and the CSO has established a dedicated unit for this purpose.
