My understanding is that the Deputy is referring to a service that was previously part funded under the Community Services Programme and which had grant support withdrawn due to audit findings that were not adequately addressed by the board members of the Company holding the contract. Given the situation, you will appreciate that service providers that do not meet the standards set for the management and application of public funds will not be approved for further support. I have no proposal for the re-establishment of the services in this part of County Kerry. Should a proposal be advanced, my Department will consider it against the criteria set out for the Community Services Programme and the context of the available funds. The Deputy will wish to note that the Community Services Programme operates on a community business and social enterprise model that requires service providers to generate a significant level of the resources required for the delivery and development of the services proposed from non-public sources.
