The 2010 Exchequer capital allocation for the Health Service Executive is â'¬393.792m. An additional allocation of â'¬50m is dependent on the proceeds of disposals of surplus properties. Gross capital expenditure as at 30 November is estimated at â'¬318m. The HSE is anticipating a full uptake of its allocation for building, equipping and furnishing of health facilities. There are savings of â'¬30m on the ICT allocation which are required to fund higher than anticipated expenditure on State Claims payments and payments under the Health (Repayment Scheme) Act with the balance of approximately â'¬12m being surrendered to the Exchequer.

As the management and delivery of the health capital programme is a service matter for the Health Service Executive, it will provide details of the overall expenditure as at 30 November 2010 and the project allocation and expenditure. The question has been referred to the Executive for direct reply.

I have asked the HSE to reply directly to the Deputy on this matter. In relation to the other agencies under the aegis of my Department, this is an operational matter for those bodies and my Department does not routinely compile or hold this information.
