Environment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2011: Second Stage
2:00 pm
Eoghan Murphy (Dublin South East, Fine Gael)
It leads to bad policy decisions and it is no way to govern a country. For the record, I do not support the construction of an incinerator in Poolbeg but the Bill is not concerned with that issue. In implementing the Bill, I ask the Minister to move quickly to levy incineration at the appropriate market rate so that it continues to be attractive as a waste management option without deprioritising options higher in the hierarchy.
