I move the Adjournment of the Dáil Éireann under Standing Order 31 to discuss the following matter of urgent national importance, the announcement by the Central Statistics Office that 444 people died by suicide last year, that one third of deaths among young people are because of suicide, and that this is the biggest cause of death in the 15 to 24 age group, 81% of whom are male, the failure of the Government to invest in research to determine the reason for such an epidemic of suicide and the total absence of suicide prevention programmes.
