I definitely agree with the Deputy. We would love some structural reform to be done in tandem with this legislation. Although this is quite progressive legislation, and hopefully it will be passed soon, it will operate in an adversarial system in the Circuit Courts and District Courts as opposed to a more child-centred and family-centred dedicated, specialised family court system, which was proposed in the programme for Government. It will not be able to do full justice without the reform of the structures.
